On the message she sent out today, Queen Latifah expressed her gratitude; hear her:

“Words can’t describe how powerful today has been at the Bay Path College Women’s Leadership Conference. Such an honor meeting so many wonderful people and of course the inspiring King Peggy. That’s right FB fam, she is the King of Otuam, Ghana! If you don’t know her story, I ask that you please check it out and be inspired as well.”

King Peggy is Nana Amuah-Afenyi VI,  chief of the town Tantum or Otuam, in the Mfantsiman Municipal District, Ghana.

Nana who is a naturalized citizen of the United States, has worked as a secretary at the Embassy of Ghana in Washington, DC. In 1970s after the death of her uncle, Tantum’s former chief, 2008, she was ritually chosen to replace him.
