Tell us briefly about yourself?
Nnaemeka Onyeka is a young African child who has a strong background. My father hails from Ideato South –Imo state, Nigeria and my mother hails from Nkwatia Kwahu, Ghana. The only child of my parents born 1st June 1988.
Your journey into the entertainment world?
My journey started at the age of 4 from primary school where I was doing cultural dance and stage drama which my mum introduced me to. Things went pretty well as I began to enjoy what I was doing and my small talent was taken to the highly celebrated “Tales by Moonlight” back in Nigeria where I acted alongside young talented kids and youth who always converge at the National Television Authority (NTA), Lagos Victoria Island to showcase their talents.
In 1997, I did my first stage production at the now defunct National Theater at Satellite Town Lagos alongside one of Nigerian prolific musicians who is still relevant in today’s Nigerian entertainment industry, Daddy Showkey. In 2006, I shoot my first professional photo shoot and later in the summer of 2008 I was chosen to represent my noble country NIGERIA at the 2008 AFRICAN SEXIEST MALE AND FEMALE COMPETITION alongside ESOSA Miss Nigeria 2008. And like the old saying goes THE SKY JUST BECAME MY STARTING POINT
Your parents reaction?
Well it was a field battle I must admit, at that point in my life it was rough, my parents were separated, that is something i wouldn’t want to talk about. So my mum and Dad were torn at what I was supposed to do. whilst at the Secondary school i was in Science Department how come the change of goal was my father’s reaction, there were so many tantrums and treats that got me scared but I had to go on my knees and pray to God for proper direction concerning my life and trust me things have gone much better as they are my greatest fans now. Am glad they barged in.
Your achievement so far?
(Smiles) …. wow achievements, it’s a lot, in a space of 7 years I have achieved a lot. Your Inspiration and role model?
Well God has always been my greatest inspiration from day one, my mum has also been my angel inspiration and Genevieve Nnaji happens to be my role model.
Your plans for the future and steps taken in realizing them?
In 2013, the brand Nnaemeka Onyeka would like to be projected in a more professional outlook for a global approach of which i have been approached by international Charity organization ONE.ORG to become the youngest African Upcoming Celebrity ambassador to fight hunger and malaria in Africa, and I feel so humbled for that. To become a strong African celebrity that has crossed boundaries. And this is a prove that MSN AFRICAN web portal (http://african.howzit.msn.com/ currently named Nnaemeka Onyeka as the 6th young upcoming African celebrity to watch out for in 2013 which featured other established and upcoming artiste from around Africa. Other projects I would embark on is a 100% media NEW PHASE for my brand Publicity Image, that is; a well structured website that links to other social networks such as FACEBOOK, TWITTER, TUMBRL, which would create the image to become more professional and make me reach a wider audience of fans. There are some Endorsement deals and ambassadorial deals underway no details for now.
Possibility or chance of you joining Gollywood or Nollywood?
I have already shot a movie with Ghanaian Film-maker RAKMA Film studio in late 2012 and have been receiving some scripts but I just want to take my time and come out with the best hopefully, and challenge my craft to its limit for me it must be right, so yes, the time for me to get into Nollywood/Gollywood is pretty much soon.
What stands you out from your contemporaries?
Well I would just say my achievements in the shortest space of time and my X-factor I guess and that grace God gives me every time.
Your asset or selling point?
My face I guess. (Laughs)
What should we be expecting from you?
So much from great media presence through the launch of my website, more intriguing and exciting interview home and abroad and my theatrical acting Debut Movie sure people should be expecting loads of great surprises from me.
Message to your fans and youths out there?
I would say a very big thank you to all my fans that I call FAB N-Hearts because without their support I wouldn’t be where I am today. Thank you for all your criticism, support, advice which I get from you all at one point in my life and career that has shaped me to become the person i am today God richly bless you all. I would want to encourage all youths out there to first believe in their dreams, nurture it and push it. Remember you have power over your destiny and God has planned your life the way it best suits him. Don’t put your dreams into anyone’s care, you are the architect of your dreams; turn them into reality by your efforts.
Thanks for your time; Diamond Celebrities wishes you the best.
