Muliple-award-winning director Obi Emelonye debuts first Igbo movie in London. ‘Onye Ozi’, an igbo language movie translated in English is set to be premiered on the 18th of October at Lighthouse Camberwell.
This is the first time in history a movie shot in Igbo language is premiering abroad, no wonder tongues are wagging! many saying stuffs like: ” Igbo movie in London won’t sell because there are not many Igbos in London.” Some said “people won’t come out because Igbos are not supportive of each other and they’re also not proud of their Language.”
Whether this is true or not will be seen on the 18th of October. I hope that Igbos will come out in numbers with their kids to encourage their own and prove them wrong.
Diamond celebrities has been informed that tickets are running out already, so if you’ve not got your ticket yet grab yours from www.onyeozi.eventbrite.com (click on the link to get your ticket).
Trust me this is a history made you will love to be part of, but if you miss the opportunity to grab your ticket because of limited seats, don’t be sad as the movie will be showing the same time as in the cinema on Iroko Tv, Ibaka Tv, and Afrinolly.
Director Obi Emelonye and his team have given blood, sweat and tears in this project. The result is a film that touches the soul while making you laugh wherever you may come from. See it for yourself.
Director Obi expresses his appreciations on this post on facebook last night, hear him:
“This is a first for world cinema and Nollywood, but our effort to make this happen is nothing without your support…individually and collectively. Share with your contacts and bring them along on the 18th for a night of glamour, fun, laughter and celebration of our Africanness. God bless you for your support.”
You heard him, grab you ticked and don’t be told!!!
