The humongous diamond ring Kris Humphries gave his ex-wife  Kim Kardashian  in 2011 was the last lot in the “Magnificent Jewels” auction at Christie’s Tuesday morning. The 16.21 carat sparkler fetched $749,000, far more than the auction house’s pre-sale estimate of $300,000 to $500,000.

Christie’s spokesperson revealed in a statement to USA TODAY that the 16.21-carat Lorraine Schwartz bauble “saw active participation in the room, on the phone banks, and from Christie’s LIVE. This impressive diamond ring was sought out by two bidders in the back of the room, one online bidder and was ultimately won by a bidder on the phone.”

Kardashian filed for divorce few months after she got married  to Humphries. After years of legal wrangling, the divorce was finally finalized on June 3, 2013 — just two weeks before she gave birth to her daughter North with Kanye West.
