A young lady (18yrs) identified as Janet who was gang raped by three boys at gunpoint on her way back from an errand for her elder sister in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital has committed suicide. Janet was returning home from an errand when three boys attacked her and forced her into an uncompleted building in the area where she was raped.
The deceased was a native of Oduali in Abua/Odua LGA of Rivers state living with her elder sister and her brother in-law who is a pastor.
When she reported the incident to her family and neighbours, her brother in-law asked her if she could describe her assailants which she managed to describe one accurately and when they traced him to his house he eloped.
She was so devastated after the incident and decided to take her life, leaving a suicide note behind. She was said to have digested a large amount of poisonous substance known as sniper.
The police are investigation the case to bring the culprits to book.

With the estimate of the population of this country women are much more than men, which ordinarily in a polygamous setting an average 9ja man can marry up to five wives and still have enough left and yet there is still cases of rape in our society, isn’t that devilish.
