Anambra polls: Ngige, Nwoye, Ubah call for cancellation

election

The candidates of All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Chris Ngige; Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Tony Nwoye and Labour Party, Ifeanyi Ubah (LP) yesterday night called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to  cancel last Saturday governorship election.

In a joint resolution by the trio, they warned INEC and its boss, Prof. Attahiru Jega not to announce any result for the governorship poll as doing so would be trying the patience of the people of the state.

Addressing newsmen at a joint press conference by the trio, the spokesman, Senator Ngige said their stand followed the gross irregularities found in the election, hence their decision to reject it.

He gave their reasons for rejecting the election to include massive and gross irregularities, fraud in the voters’ register, unavailability of result sheets, chasing away of party agents and alleged monetary inducement of voters by the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
