Woman kills husband in Ilorin

A house wife in Ilorin, Kwara State, has reportedly hacked her husband to death over disagreement on N100 She demanded from him.The woman who is said to have lost all her four children reportedly killed her husband after she reunited with him at their matrimonial home in Oloje area of the town.

The middle-age woman, whose name was given as Mariam, was said to have left the matrimonial home when her husband, a bricklayer, parted ways with her following a row that was resolved recently after which she returned to the house.

The frosty relationship was however not maintained for long when another quarrel broke out between the couple at the weekend to which the husband lost his live.

It was learnt that when the husband told the wife that he did not have the N100 she demanded from him, a hot argument broke out and the woman allegedly picked a stick and struck her husband with it on the head.

The man reportedly fainted immediately and was confirmed dead at a near-by private hospital he was rushed for treatment.

After the incident, it was gathered that the woman locked herself up in their bedroom and inflicted injuries on her body with a razor blade.

In order to avert double tragedy and to ensure that the matter is handled by law enforcement agents, the neighbours reportedly forced the door opened and brought the woman out naked before inviting the police to arrest her.

Spokesman of the state police command, Olufemi Fabode, who confirmed the development, said the command is investigating the incident.
