Facebook marriages may not last — Adeboye

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, on Saturday said marriages contracted through social media may not last.

He said, “If you marry the modern way like on Facebook, you may likely divorce the modern way. Marry traditionally and involve God.”

Adeboye gave the warning in a sermon he preached on at the wedding of President Goodluck Jonathan’s foster daughter, Faith, and her husband, Godswill, in Abuja.

Adeboye also stated that the success or failure of any marriage rests on the husband who is the head and therefore advised the groom to ensure that the marriage succeeded.

He urged him not to criticise his wife but correct her in love.

The clergyman also urged mothers-in-law to avoid interfering in the life of the new couple.
