Siblings die after drinking holy water

The police in Delta State have arrested a 25-year-old woman, Ese Oghenevwe, and a pastor, Austin Eduviere, following a report that her two sons died after consuming a liquid substance the priest gave to her.

According to a statement on Wednesday by the state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Celestina Kalu, the police at Abraka received information that the woman had killed her two children, Prayer Clement (nine months) and Wisdom Clement (two years), by giving them a liquid substance to drink.

“Based on the information, detectives arrested Oghenevwe. The suspect revealed that the liquid substance was given to her by Eduviere of Triumphant World International Church, Abraka, for healing purposes.

“She added that the postle claimed he had prayed over it,” the PPRO said.

Kalu said the apostle explained that the said liquid substance was a mixture of water and salt which he sells to people at N1,850 for healing of various sicknesses after praying for them.
