Respite came the way of former chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Malam Nuhu Ribadu; former military administrator of Lagos State, Buba Marwa and Markus Gundiri as the National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party yesterday granted them waivers to contest the September 6 Adamawa State governorship primary election.
Also, the party urged its members in the state to decide their governorship candidate, stating that as far as it was concerned, “it is only the delegates to the September 6 governorship primary election that would decide who would be the governorship candidate of the PDP.”
The National Publicity Secretary of PDP, Olisa Metuh said that the party had unanimously agreed to grant waivers to Ribadu, Marwa and Gundiri.
According to him, the party’s leadership had no problem in reaching the decision to grant waivers to three governorship aspirants that defected from the All Progressives Congress.
