Two men wanted in the kidnapping and execution-style murder of a Georgia man and his pregnant fiancée last month are behind bars.
Richard (Fathead) Augusta Wilson, 41, and Andre Gay were arrested this week after Jeronta Brown, 24, and Briana Brooks, 21, were found shot on the side of a northwest Atlanta road on Aug. 30.
Brooks, who was pregnant with her second child with Brown, died five days later after giving birth to a premature baby girl via C-section.
The couple had been returning from a night out when they were violently abducted by masked, armed men outside Brown’s aunt’s home just after midnight, according to DeKalb police.
In a call made minutes later from Brown’s cell phone, his family said, they were ordered to pay a $150,000 ransom.
Before they were able to negotiate a release, the young couple was found shot in the back of their heads with their hands cuffed behind their backs.
The first big arrest in the brazen murder mystery came with Gay’s arrest on Monday on kidnapping and murder charges.
Wilson was collared in Birmingham, Ala., Thursday morning while reportedly trying to sell an assault rifle at a pawn shop.
WSBTV reports that Wilson had been previously wanted for charges in an unrelated murder in Fulton County in January 2014, as well as for federal probation violations.
Gay had similarly been charged and convicted of murdering a pregnant woman and a 16-month-old child 23 years ago, the station reported.
He’s been out of jail for the last eight months.
