A male model tipped for TV fame has been found dead hours after he told friends he was lonely.
Grant Clarey, 21, was a lifeguard and keen surfer in Newquay, Cornwall, where he was found hanged at a holiday park.
His father, Jim Clarey, described him as ‘everything to live for’ but Grant posted a message on Facebook hinting at his loneliness.
He posted a message saying: ‘Seriously fed up – anyone free this evening. Pm me – feeling alone.’
Paying tribute to him, his father said: ‘The world was his oyster. He has a modelling contract and was about to do some filming in April for a Channel Four series – he was going to be one of the big characters in it.
‘He was incredibly fit and loved being active. He was very good looking. He had everything going for him.
We knew he’d been depressed for a while. He knew we all loved him so much.’
Police said they were not treating Grant’s death as suspicious.
