First Bank (Ojodu Berger, Lagos) : A Sanctum For Criminals And Insouciance Bankers? (Video)

My phone was stolen on Monday 2nd March, 2015, at about 12: 30 pm,  inside First Bank Ojodu Berger, Lagos.  I spotted the suspect immediately but the bankers and security men with their insouciance attitude couldn’t do any thing…. After the whole drama, the said manager told me come back in the evening so that they will have time to check the cameras. What kind of useless and hopeless banking system is that?

Whats the purpose of having cameras in places like banks , if not for cases like this? And they have the pluck to tell me they are too busy to check the cameras rather I should come back in the evening.

I vented about this issue on live radio via Cool Fm Lagos the following day, when another person said they stole his phone too in the same bank months ago. Even the customer care manager  told me that they stole her own phone in the same bank weeks ago, so I should just forget mine.  Should we allow this jumble to continue?

Please First Bank, My BlackBerry Q10 contains  all the datas  I work with ,  Business contacts ,  my unpublished books, write ups, unrecorded songs  etc.  It pains me every second when I remember the things I lost along with my phone, and It pains me more that we could have recovered the phone at that moment if not for the attitude of the security men and the bankers.

Hence,  I wont stop till I get justice on this case!  We need a better Nigeria!

Below, is the kind of video i’m expecting to watch based on this issue…forward to 1.40 to watch from there

Well done o Oga Don, but you are getting it wrong my brother. Please, a point of correction, I do not work with a bank, I work with an Insurance company and a concerned citizen of this country as well. Nobody is supporting the way at which your phone was stolen but the point am trying to drive at is the statement you made that you spotted the thief. So what step did you take at that particular time that the phone was stolen you spotted the thief that stole your phone in the banking hall. You ought to have raised an alarm immediately and inform the security personnel in the bank, all this issue would not have come up and the thief in question would have been handed over to the police for prosecution once and for all. Furthermore, I think you need to be introduced to my company insurance product. The issue of the stolen phone will not have arise and will be well taken care of but its a pity that people generally don’t value insurance and don’t know what it takes to insure ones property in this country of ours. Just keep it cool my brother cos I know you are a fine gentleman. Those bankers working with the bank can never steal your phone for God sake! What for ? But if they must do that, then I think the wizard and the witches from that person family compound in the village must have followed him to Lagos. I rest my case Mr Don of Africa.

Don it’s really painful. I understand the way u feel right now because I have the same things on my own phone and I can’t imagine loosing my phone. But you made a mistake. The instant you suspected someone, you shouldn’t have let him go. If you had started something right there, the approach of the bank staff would have been different. At least it would be on record (not on their camera) that a customer who lost his phone started a brawl, that way , their higher authority. Would at least look into it. It’s not the phone, but the intellectual property it contains.

Thanks to Bala and dodo, i know you guys are from First bank, but watch the video below. If we can get a clear video like this from First Bank, then the whole truth will come out. If a shop in Ikeja can do it, First Bank can don more than that. We need a new Nigeria, no more business as usual, is not all about my phone, but the datas i have lost with it. They think that I’m just a common Lagos boy that they can treat any how by not giving me passable attention but “Nobody is a nobody”

Pls stay away from trouble my brother, I don’t think a banker can do such a thing, for what? I think an outsider must have taken the phone and how did the person that stole for phone even manage to steal the phone? By dragging this issue, I don’t think you are helping matters my brother because what is the evidence that the phone was even stolen in the banking hall, what if you must lost the phone before entering the banking hall. Well, I think I should blame the bank for their CCTV machine not to have captured the activities of that particular day. For me, if I must be the judge in this kind of situation, I will say you don’t have a case at all because if the highest authority want to act, I think you will me blamed for not handling your properties properly in such a crowded environment when you are not a baby or kindergarten. You are putting the whole staff in trouble if you decide to still go ahead or make up your mind that you still want to deal with the issue on the ground. My advice to you as a fine gentle man and a big boy in the society is to just leave the matter to God to judge whoever that must have stole your Black Berry Q 10 phone.

Sorry o,thats not good enough Oga Don. But I thought you said you spotted the thief that stole your phone then what is stopping from holding or handling the thief that stole your phone instead of relying on the bank security in retrieving your so Called BlackBerry z 10 that was stolen at that particular day. Oga Don,you are not been sincere at all,and it still baffles me how it is possible for anybody or bankers that are so busy with their tight schedule can stood so low with their armed robber salary to steal a small like BlackBerry Q 10. Haba! Oga Don,fear God now and said the customer care manager told you that her own phone too was stolen in the same banking hall of which I know a staff of any company will not do to the extent of damaging the image of his company because that’s her source of income. So you still went ahead and announced it on the radio that you lost a phone just to tarnish the image of the company because of a common phone that the value is not up to nothing to write home all about.
