Governors – Elect on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), on Wednesday, vowed that they were ready to lead by example and advised other leaders in the party to follow suit.
The APC governors-elect, under umbrella of the Progressives Governors Forum, at a retreat in Abuja, held at Shehu Yar’Adua Centre, in a communique, stated that they had agreed to embark on a peer review mechanism to facilitate and replicate positive governance strategies and policies in all the APC-controlled states.
Other resolutions included “that all those who hold leadership positions in the party are ready to instigate the right followership that will produce results.”
The governors also agreed to implement uniform programmes in line with the party’s manifestoes in their respective states.
The communique read in part: “That the Nigerian economy needs to be diversified, especially towards agriculture.
“That the country cannot decide to entirely ban importations of foreign products, but look for ways to create a competitive market with those products that are being imported.”
