Don’t take Nigerians for granted – Obasanjo advises Buhari

Nigeria’s former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, yesterday, advised the President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, not to take Nigerians for granted.
He urged Buhari to take Nigerians seriously in administering the country after being sworn into office on May 29.
The former president gave the advice when a delegation of South West women leaders led by the Iyalode of Yorubaland, Chief (Mrs.) Alaba Lawson, visited him in his Abeokuta Hilltop Mansion.
He said Buhari should strive to be honest with Nigerians in governing the country, stressing that the citizens cannot be deceived.
Obasanjo was, however, quick to add that he believed in the ability of the President-elect to lead the country aright.
He insisted that Buhari was not a novice in the art of governance and appealed to Nigerians to pray for the success of the incoming government and cooperate with the administration.
The former president noted that Nigeria had been poorly managed in the last eight years, stating that Buhari’s government would require some time to correct the anomalies.
Obasanjo urged Buhari not to be frightened by the current situation of things in the country, because the president-elect has the needed experience  having ruled as a military head of state from 1983 to 1985…
