Former beauty queen charged with possessing and selling drugs (Photos)

A former beauty queen, who was stripped of her title after saucy pictures emerged of her in a nightclub, has been charged with a series of drugs offences.

Katherine ‘Katie’ Nicole Rees, 30, is accused of possessing and selling a controlled substance, believed to be methamphetamine, according to a criminal complaint filed this week.

Rees won Miss Nevada USA in 2007 but lost her crown a short time later when pictures emerged of her scandalous antics in a Florida nightclub.

She now faces four charges: trafficking in a controlled substance, sale of a controlled substance, and two counts of conspiracy to violate the uniform controlled substances act, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.

A $50,000 arrest warrant was issued for Rees on Wednesday.

The arrest is the latest event in a troubled history for the beauty queen.

After being stripped of her crown in 2007, a year later she was charged with resisting arrest after being stopped by traffic cops in Las Vegas.

In 2009, she was questioned at Sydney airport after her luggage showed traces of cocaine and methamphetamine. She was later released without charge.

In 2012, Rees admitted one count of possession of a drug not for interstate commerce. She later underwent drugs counselling, according to court records.
