Chelsea team doctor Eva Carneiro has left the club – and is now ready to launch an expensive legal battle.
Carneiro was stripped of her duties after Jose Mourinho criticised her and physio Jon Fearn after they came onto the pitch to treat Eden Hazard during last month’s draw with Swansea.
Gibraltar-born medic Carneiro was due to return to work last week but did not show up and it is now understood she has left the club.
Carneiro is now likely to launch a legal battle having taken advice from a top firm of lawyers…
She will argue that she was twice waved onto the pitch by referee Michael Oliver to treat Hazard who also said he wanted treatment.
Mourinho accused the medics of not understanding the game and she was then stripped of her duties soon after posting on Facebook a message of thanks for messages of support.
It is understood that Carneiro has high level support from within Chelsea and the ongoing saga could be seen as potentially damaging for Mourinho.
She may sue for constructive dismissal and get a big pay out with Chelsea unlikely to want to take the case to court.
