A mother was arrested on suspicion of rape after having sex with her daughter’s 13-year-old boyfriend, police said.
Elaine B. Goodman allegedly bedded the underage boy after grooming him over text messages.
The 44-year-old appeared in court in Delaware yesterday charged with three counts of third-degree rape and fourth-degree rape.
She also faces two counts of second-degree unlawful sexual contact and sexual solicitation of a child.
According to officers, Smyrna Police Department received a report in March alleging an inappropriate relationship between Goodman and the 13-year-old.
Investigations showed Goodman had contacted the schoolboy via text message and met up with him to have sex on the night of March 15.
Goodman, of Dover, appeared before Justice of the Peace Court 2 via video phone.
She was committed to Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Center in lieu of a $225,000 secured bond payment.
