Nevada cops want prosecutors to charge Lamar Odom with illegal drug use after he was found unconscious and bleeding from his nose in a legal brothel last month.
“The Nye County Sheriff’s Office has now asked (us) to review a request for prosecution against Lamar Odom,” Nye District Attorney Angela A. Bello said Monday in a statement to the Daily News.
The recommended charge is “use of, or under the influence of, a controlled substance,” she said.
“The D.A.’s office will take the time needed to appropriately review that request, along with all evidence that might support that request, in order to reach a just conclusion regarding whether to advance charges,” Bello said.
Odom was rushed to the hospital Oct. 13, and hours later, law enforcement officials traveled to Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas to take a sample of his blood to use for a toxicology test. On 911 tapes released from the incident, a man can be heard saying Odom had used cocaine.
Odom, 36, is currently being treated at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center In Los Angeles. He has battled addiction issues in the past.
