The R&B star dropped by “On-Air with Ryan Seacrest” Friday to talk about his new album “Royalty,” named after his 19-month-old daughter.
“It’s very humbling, and it’s very calming,” Brown said about how fatherhood has changed him, adding that his daughter is “mellowing me out.”
In March, the “Forever” singer was revealed to have a daughter with his ex Nia Guzman, with whom he shares custody.

He told Seacrest that he sees his daughter two weeks each month, and cherishes watching his little girl grow up before his eyes.
“Being able to be a father and seeing my daughter from those gradual stages — from crawling, to walking, to saying words, to learning different things every day — is kind of teaching me patience, and it’s been great.”

Royalty’s influence on her father’s life also extends to his music. Besides naming his seventh studio album after her and featuring her on the cover, Brown is also linking a charitable component to the record, which comes out Dec. 18.
For every album sold, the singer said he will donate $1 to the Children’s Miracle Network, a nonprofit group that benefits pediatric hospitals and raises awareness of children’s health issues.
“You have these platforms and these positions as an artist,” Brown said about the initiative. “It only matters if you help people along the way.”
