Nicki Minaj Bails Out Brother From Jail After He Is Charged with Raping a Minor

Nicki Minaj posted her older brother’s bail on Friday after Jelani Maraj was arrested for allegedly raping a child, the New York Post reports.

Maraj, 37, was released from custody in Nassau County on a $100,000 bond, according to People Mag. The bond was backed by two of Minaj’s homes in Baldwin, New York, according to court documents obtained by the Post.

The singer’s brother was charged with first-degree rape of a child younger than 13 and first-degree sexual conduct against a child in a Long Island, New York, court on Thursday. Maraj is due back in court on Dec. 9, according to the Nassau County district attorney’s office. It is not clear if he has entered a plea.

Minaj, 32, attended Maraj and Jacqueline Robinson’s wedding in Baldwin in August and shared a heartfelt post in honor of her brother’s marriage.
