Many believe Mourinho’s cruel treatment of former Chelsea medic Eva Carnerio sparked the end of his managerial reign…
As the Special One was sensationally sacked by Chelsea for a second time, many believe his axing of the medic from the Chelsea bench sparked the slump in form that transformed the team from Premier League champions to relegation material in a matter of months.
While there are few brave enough to take on the mighty ego that is Mourinho, Carneiro has done just that by suing over her treatment.
He infuriated the 42-year-old with his very public dressing down of her after she raced on to the pitch to treat injured star Eden Hazard as the clock ticked down during the opening day draw against Swansea.
The popular doctor was dumped from match day duties and it is believed the move split the camp and turned key players against the manager.
The acrimonious saga has been referred to as “The Curse Of Eva” as the team tumbled towards the bottom of the league after humiliating losses to the likes of newly-promoted Bournemouth.
And earlier today Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich’s patience finally ran out with the Portuguese coach and he was fired – in a move that could cost the Russian billionaire £45million. The last straw was Monday night’s 2-1 defeat to league-leading Leicester City, after which bitter Mourinho accused his players of “betraying” him.

He covered his face with his hood as he was driven home in the afternoon. It is understood Mourinho, who signed a new four-year deal just five months ago, will be paid his £250,000 a week salary by Chelsea until he lands another job.
If he decides against working for other clubs, it mean Abramovich could end up forking out £45.5million for him to do nothing.
