Meet The New Miss World 2015 (Photos)

Miss Spain has been announced as the winner of this year’s Miss World competition .

Mireia Lalaguna Royo was announced as the winner of the competition for 2015 yesterday.

She was handed the crown by last year’s winner Rolene Strauss of South Africa.

Miss Russia, Sofia Nikitchuk, was named first runner up while Miss Indonesia, Maria Harfanti, was second runner up.

The trio had battled it out with Miss Jamaica and Miss Lebanon as the final five after the remaining women lost out.

According to the Miss World website, Miss Spain comes from Barcelona and is currently studying pharmacy with the aim of setting up a business in nutricion.

There was bad news for the British and Irish contestants – all of who failed to make the top 10.

The newly crowned Miss World traditionally spends their winning year based in London and travelling the world representing the Miss World Organisation and its associated causes and charities.
