Again! Nick Cannon denies trying to delay Mariah Carey divorce, says he wants her to be “happy”

Nick Cannon insists he just wants Mariah Carey to be “happy” and denied reports he is holding up the divorce case.

The America’s Got Talent host split from the Hero singer – who whom he has twins Moroccan and Monroe, five – in August 2014 and he filed for divorce later that year.

Though they struck a property settlement and agreed to joint custody of their twins in December 2014, it was recently claimed Nick has repeatedly declined to sign the paperwork to make the divorce official, but he insists that isn’t the case.

He told Extra: “There’s nothing to tell… me and Mariah get along great, and it’s a process, nobody is holding nothing up. “Why would I hold it up? I want her to be happy. She is such a beautiful spirit, and we put the kids first.”

Mariah got engaged to Australian billionaire James Packer in January and recently admitted “the goal” is for them to tie the knot later this year.

However, she added: “There’s a lot on my plate.”
