Nicki Minaj’s brother has a few more days to consider his plea in his child sex abuse case.
Jelani Maraj, who was charged in December with raping a 12-year-old girl multiple times, faces 15 years to life in prison, Miriam Sholder of the Nassau County District Attorney’s office told the Daily News.
The case adjourned in a Long Island court on Thursday and is scheduled to resume on Monday.
The alleged victim was “someone Maraj had access to,” a source close to the case previously told the Daily News.
The 37-year-old was arraigned Dec. 3 on a first-degree rape charge and freed from a Nassau County jail on $100,000 bail. He reappeared in public for the first time almost a week later for a preliminary hearing.
Maraj’s younger sister, one of hip hop’s biggest stars, hasn’t commented publicly on the case.
