Beyonce is reportedly urging Jay Z to make amends with Kanye West following the rapper’s hospitalisation.
The rap icons have been close friends 16 years after meeting when Jay sang This Can’t Be Life – a song which Kanye produced.
They went on to collaborate on an album together in 2011, and have supported one other at numerous high profile events, with Kanye by Jay’s side when he launched multi-million dollar music streaming service Tidal in early 2015.
However, despite their long-time friendship and Kanye’s very public defence of Jay Z’s wife Beyoncé at the Video of the Year Award back in 2009, Kanye has since had a complete turnaround of opinion, slamming both stars at his final gig before he cancelled the remainder of his tour.
But following the rapper’s hospitalisation at UCLA Medical Centre in LA where he is undergoing psychiatric evaluation, Beyonce is said to be pushing her husband to reach out to Kanye.
“Beyoncé is urging Jay to let bygones be bygones, and Jay is coming round to the idea and fast as he sees Kanye is in trouble,” a source said.
They added to The Sun: “No matter what has happened between them, Kanye has always been Jay’s little bro and Jay has always called him his ‘familia’.”
“When Kanye’s mother Donda died, it was Bey and Jay that Kanye turned to. They were his number one comforters, with Beyoncé even playing Connect 4 with him to take his mind off things.”
The superstars are now believed to be planning to get in contact privately with the star so he knows they’re there for him, the source continues.
