
Lagos State University ( LASU ) was graced by the presence of the Mavin Grandpa of the Supreme Mavin Dynasty as he delivers a magnificent speech of a lifetime on the future of music business entrepreneurship in Nigeria.
The occasion which is held once in a year by the Theatre Arts & Music department which has played host to the likes of Nobel laureate professor Wole Soyinka, Yinka Davies , Dede Mabiaku and many other notable icons ,
this year 2017, the school honours the Mavin Grandpa(Collins Ifeanyi Onwuneme Ajereh Enebeli ) who is the father of the legendary producer and Mavin records boss Don jazzy.
The occasion was spectacular with the students in full attendance and stars such as D’Prince (OMOBA) Dija , Ayo Bankole Jnr, Dr. Richard Donald Smith from United States, Tolu Adesina ( the MTN project fame 2nd runner up 2011), VALOSKI, Shadura Chant,PMAN executive Asha Gangali , Artist managers association in Nigeria ( AMAN) Lagos state chapter chairman Apostle Dr. Emeka George, Brandmollar (Mc) veteran musicians Baba Fryo , Stella Monye, legendary Rain Maker Majek Fashek, music industry personalities and other dignitaries.
There were performances by some of the school’s students and special vintage stage performances by Stella Monye and Majek Fashek in honor of the Mavin Grandpa.
The occasion came to a close with vote of thanks from the head of department Dr. Femi Faseun and President of the Music student association of Nigeria (MUSAN)
Bolanle Osilokun and the Merit award for excellence was given to the Mavin Grandpa for his untiring contributions to the Growth of the music and entertainment industry in Nigeria.
