
The United States Congregational Delegation yesterday assured the Nigerian government of increasing technical support to end the Boko Haram crises in the Northeast. The leader of delegation, Senator Christopher Coons, gave the assurance while answering questions from journalists in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.
The senator spoke on behalf of a congressional delegation from the United States of America led by the US Ambassador to Nigeria to the Headquarters Theatre Command Operation Lafiya Dole, Maimalari Cantonment, Maiduguri, also commended the efforts of the Military Command and Control Centre on the achievements made in the ongoing operations.
He said, “We have come to show our support to the Nigerian soldiers in the counter insurgency operation in the northeast Nigeria.
We would increase our technical support to ensure that the crisis ravaging the region is brought to an end.”
Speaking, the theatre commander Operation Lafiya Dole, Major General Ibrahim Attahiru, said the visit goes a long way to show how the United States is extending its hands in the counter insurgency operation in the northeast.
