“It is better for me to go to South Africa and die there than to be a slave in my own country”

Yesterday, I went to have a haircut, and I met some people watching the video of the Nigerian man recently killed by South African police. One of them asked what Nigerians are still doing in South Africa…. Then my barber started pouring his heart out to me.

“See Don Saint, it is better for me to go to South Africa and die there, than to be a slave in my own country. This government is out to frustrate us till we all die of hardship. Nepa just came and cut my light now. Imagine me paying 20k every month for this small shop and for services that I don’t even get? Did I come to Lagos to hustle for Nepa. Me I’m tired of this country, so my brother I don’t blame those out there in South Africa” he said.

Well, as for me, If I have the power, I will restart this country. Things are getting bad more and more every day. Nigerians are suffering, dying in poverty. They keep recovering and borrowing money, but we don’t see the effects in our lives…May God help us!
