Pro wrestler Davey Boy Smith Jr. reportedly saved a woman from committing suicide by jumping off a bridge.
Smith, whose real name is Harry Smith, posted the story of his rescue on his Facebook page and credits his grappling experience for helping the woman.
The wrestler said he was driving Sunday night when he spotted a woman crying and hanging off a bridge in Calgary. Smith said he stopped and tried to speak to the woman, but she kept threatening to leap if he got any closer to her.
“I decided to grab a hold of her and not take any chances,” Smith Jr. said in the post. “She started to slide and want to go more as I grabbed a hold her.”
Smith said he was able to pull the woman up and get on top of her to stop her from jumping.
“Luckily [from] my years of grappling and self-defense I knew how to grab her hard and how to pull her up from hanging off and jumping,” Smith said.
