Total blackout across Nigeria; Two days after Buhari celebrated power landmark

There was blackout across the country on Tuesday as a result of the collapse of the national grid.

The situation was caused by a fire incident on one of the pipeline systems in the country, the ministry of power said in a statement.

It identified the pipeline system as Escravos Lagos Pipeline System near Okada, Edo state.

The ministry, which also includes works and housing sectors, said it was working to restore power distribution nationwide.
