
Arnold Schwarzenegger has returned to social media after undergoing emergency heart surgery, telling fans: “It’s true: I’m back.”
On Thursday, the 70-year-old Terminator actor and former California governor underwent a scheduled procedure to replace a valve – but developed complications while he was there.
As a result, doctors took the decision to give him emergency open-heart surgery in an operation that lasted several hours, TMZ reported.
However, showing he was well on the road to recovery, the actor took to Twitter on Monday to tell his his 4.43 million followers: “It’s true: I’m back!”
Over the weeekend his spokesperson Daniel Ketchell tweeted that Schwarzenegger was awake, adding: “His first words were actually ‘I’m back’, so he is in good spirits.”
