It’s Official: Atiku Picks Peter Obi As Running Mate (Photos)

The presidential flagbearer for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has picked former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, as his running mate for the 2019 general elections.

Sources close to the PDP’s flagbearer say the deal was sealed at an informal meeting between the two men in Abuja on Friday.

Shortly after, the Senator representing Bayelsa East senatorial district in the National Assembly, Ben Murray-Bruce, congratulated Mr Obi on emerging as Atiku’s running mate.

Atiku embraces Obi after a 'meeting' earlier today.

Gbenga Daniel, the director-general of the campaign, confirmed in the statement that Mr Obi was the ultimate choice, hours after congratulatory messages had already poured in for the former Anambra governor.
