The Federal Government has re-assured Nigerians of its commitment towards ending HIV/AIDS by the year 2030, in line with the global target.
The Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire said at a press conference organised to mark this year’s World AIDS Day in Abuja that government had redoubled its efforts to reduce the spread of the scourge, and appropriate measures were being taken to ensure quality HIV services for healthier future of people leaving with the disease.
“Nigeria has increased the amount of its HIV funding with 20% ahead of the previous funds and 50,000 people will equally receive free treatment this year. I think with this you can believe me that we are committed to end HIV by the year 2030,” he said.
