Nigeria’s Comptroller-General of Immigration tests positive for coronavirus

The Comptroller-General of Nigeria Immigration Service, Mohammed Babandede, has tested positive for Coronavirus (COVID-19), he told Premium Times Sunday morning, joining a list of officials who have tested positive to the virus.

“I tested positive for COVID-19,” said Mr Babandede in a message sent in the early hours of Sunday. “I have been in self-isolation since my return from the UK on Sunday on Sunday 22nd of this month with British Airways in Lagos.”

Nigeria has recorded 14 new cases of the coronavirus disease.

Nine of the new cases were recorded in Lagos state while five were in the federal capital territory (FCT).

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced the development in a series of tweets on Sunday.

This brings the total number of cases in the country to 111.
