
There are more than 1 million cases of coronavirus in the US, according to Johns Hopkins University’s tally and more than 58,000 people have died.
Some states are already taking their first steps toward reopening. Texas’ governor said he’ll allow his stay-at-home order to expire on Thursday.
President Trump is expected to sign an executive order compelling meat processing plants to remain open.
Among U.S. states, New York has been hit the hardest, with nearly 300,000 cases and 22,000 deaths, followed by New Jersey. But conditions have been improving in those states, which have reported success in flattening infection rates.
