The World’s Most Liveable Cities For 2022 (The Top 10)

The annual ranking of the world’s most liveable cities has just been released by the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU).

The EIU, which is a sister organization to The Economist, ranked 173 cities around the world on a variety of factors, including health care, crime rates, political stability, infrastructure and access to green space.

The Austrian capital Vienna made a comeback as the world’s most liveable city, according to an annual report from the Economist published Thursday.

Vienna snatched the top spot from Auckland, which tumbled down to 34th place due to coronavirus pandemic restrictions, according to the report by the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU).

“Vienna, which slipped to 12th place in our rankings in early 2021 as its museums and restaurants were closed, has since rebounded to first place, the position it held in 2018 and 2019,” it said.

Switzerland was the only country in Europe to have two entries in the top 10, with Geneva in sixth position and Zurich landing in third.
