Applying Tribal Marks Without Child’s Consent Evil – Toke Makinwa

Media personality Toke Makinwa has spoken out against the practice of giving tribal marks to children without their consent, calling it “evil”.

She shared her thoughts on her X handle, recounting a recent encounter with a beautiful influencer who had tribal marks.

Toke expressed gratitude that the practice has been abolished, acknowledging that her grandmother also had tribal marks.

She wondered what life was like for her grandmother and others who had to live with the marks, but is thankful that the practice is no longer continued.

“Today I saw a beautiful influencer with tribal marks and it made me think about the cruelty that culture brought upon us. Marking a child without his/her consent as a means of identification is Evil, I know our parents didn’t know any better, but damnnnn!!!!

“Thank God it’s abolished now. My grandma had tribal marks too. Some on her face and her arms, I wonder what life was like when she was younger walking around with it, though I’m sure a lot of people around her had same but thank God it’s canceled now,” she wrote.
