I Inspired Burna Boy In His Early Days — Skales

Skales has made a surprising claim about his influence on fellow artist Burna Boy

In an interview with Naija FM in Lagos, Skales stated that he inspired Burna Boy at a pivotal point in his career.

According to Skales, before he featured Burna Boy on the remix of his song “Temper” in 2017, Burna Boy had not yet achieved mainstream success.

Skales believes that their collaboration played a significant role in Burna Boy’s subsequent rise to fame.

Skales emphasized that he is not trying to take credit for Burna Boy’s success, but rather acknowledge the mutual inspiration and support that they have shared over the years.

He noted that the essence of collaboration is to promote and support one another, and that he and Burna Boy have benefited from their creative partnership.

““I inspired Burna Boy. He will agree with me. So, nobody help anybody. We probably admire ourselves and we decide to work together.

“As at then, Burna boy had no hot song before I featured him on ‘Temper Remix.’

“It was after our collaboration that he started excelling. I’m not trying to take credit for his success but he has inspired me over the years and I believe I inspired him at a point, too.”
