Why I Don’t Have Too Many Friends – Simi

Singer and songwriter Simi has revealed her struggles with having close friends in the entertainment industry, attributing it to her introverted personality.

In an interview with media personality VJ Adams, Simi explained that while she has cordial relationships with industry peers, her true friends exist outside the entertainment world.

She emphasised that her connections in the industry are professional rather than personal, stating that her industry peers are colleagues, not close friends.

She noted that her rapport with VJ Adams is an exception, as building such connections typically requires extra effort due to her reserved nature.

She said, “My friends in the industry are my guys. They’re not friends because they are in the industry.

‘I’m really bad at that, and I always say that I think I have the wrong personality for the industry I have the passion for. I’m only doing music because I like music, and there are many things that I like and know how to do, but I feel like my personality is not compatible.

“I’m really not good at networking, and I don’t know how to engage like that. The rapport I even have with you, I don’t have with many people in the media. These things don’t come to me naturally, so I have to be extra at it”.
