Tell us a little about yourself?
My name is Ray blaze, first out of 7 children, from Okpe Akoko, Edo State, Nigeria.
How long have you been into music?
Almost all my life. As a child I moved from one choir to the other. And in school, I was the social prefect then. Also my uncles are well known musicians in my province. So, I will say I was born into music.
What kind of music are you into?
Afro-centric and R&B.
Brief us on how it all started?
It all started from the church’s children choir. I used to act drama during that time. From there, I met my uncle who is a musician. I got along with his kids. My cousin HYDRO and I learnt to play the drums and the piano, but then, I was very active in choirs. At a point, I even headed the RCCG choir, gent region, in Belgium. I learnt to write songs when I was in secondary school, being a social prefect at that time.
As a musician in Belgium, what are the challenges you face?
Getting a media attention.
Which is your most exciting show?
Miss East African, Belgium, organized by The Exotic Night.
Which are your hits tracks?
Life Na jeje, Love Mental, No Worry, and heavy something.
Any collaboration?
Yes, a lot of talented ones, both upcoming and established.
If you weren’t a musician, what would you have become?
An actor or a lawyer.
Are you working on any project now?
Yes, my singles, my Album, collabos, and lots more.
Who are your role models in music?
My uncle Oslo King, Ray Charles, R Kelly, Ebenezer Obey, Timaya, P-Square, and D’banj.
Have you ever performed in Nigeria?
Yes, at the village park in Lagos and at the Star show in Benin.
What are the things that excite you?
Music and smiles of other people.
Have you ever thought of joining Nollywood?
Yes, if I have the opportunity to act, I’ll do that.
