Exclusive: Nollywood Actor Junior Pope shows off his award, tells Diamond Celebrities ““I feel particularly elated and honoured by this”

On 9^thFebruary, 2013, Nollywood Actor Junior Pope Odonwodo was honored with the most Rising Nollywood Actor of the year award by the Benue State government.

Among others who were honored are Patience Ozokwo (Mama G), John Okafor, Mercy Johnson, and Yul Edochie.

When Diamond Celebrities talked with the hardworking Actor he said this:

“I feel particularly elated and honoured by this. The Gabriel Susuam government has shown once again that it is committed to the ideals of good governance even as it supports the Nollywood industry. I’m happy that the midnight candles burnt and all the sweat and hard-work I put into every movie is now being appreciated. Really, I feel encouraged and grateful to the Benue State Government.”

With disappointment, the Enugu born Actor also lamented: “At the same time I feel slightly depressed that this honour is coming from another Government other than my own state Government of Enugu. But even so I’m consoled by Christ’s prophetic utterance that a prophet is never honoured in his hometown.
All in all, I’m grateful to God, my family, my fans and to the Benue State Government”
