A Man Stabbed Wife To Death After She Told Him Their Marriage Was Over

Mark Arthur allegedly stabbed his wife, Heather Arthur, 50 in the heart in their Newcastle home when she told him their marriage was over, Newcastle Crown Court heard.

After killing Mrs Arthur, Mr Arthur went to his doctor’s surgery nearby wearing boxer shorts and a top, bursting in on his GP and saying he had hurt his wife. The 50-year-old has pleaded guilty to manslaughter but denies murder on the grounds of loss of control.

Heather Arthur, 50, had fallen in love with the saxophonist in a jazz band she sung with and decided to leave her partner of 30 years, Mark Arthur, also 50, a jury was told.
