The Abia State Police Command said it has recovered three rifles of policemen, who were at the scene of the shooting of the personal aide of Governor Theodore Orji’s son, Chinedu. Three policemen have been arrested and would be made to face the full wrath of the law if found culpable.
Announcing the arrest in a press statement yesterday, the state Police Public Relations Officer, ASP, Geoffrey Ogbonna, stated that the police were fully abreast of the shooting incident which occurred on February 15, 2014, at the old main market, where Governor Orji was received by Ikwuano/Umuahia people.
He stated further that the incident which resulted to the death of one John Ndubuka, a personal aide of the governor’s son, has attracted a lot of comments and insinuations in the social and other media.
He urged members of the public to ignore imaginary and unguided publications that are diversionary, assuring that the police were on top of the situation.
The police spokesman said the rifles of the three policemen at the immediate vicinity have been recovered, adding that the outcome of ongoing investigation would be made public soon.
“The three policemen have been arrested and are undergoing thorough investigation , the result of which will be made public soon. Anyone found culpable would be made to face the full wrath of the law,” Ogbonna said.
Recalled that John Ndubuka, a personal aide of the son of the governor, Chinedu Orji, an engineer, was allegedly shot dead by a mobile police aide of Engr. Orji after he had opened the door of the car for his boss and was about entering the latter’s car.
