A petition published on the website of the White House petition, in which the deportation of Canadian pop star Justin Bieber is demanded from the U.S., has reached 275,000 signatures. Thus, the threshold of 100,000 signatures required for a response from President Barack Obama has been loosely exceeded. In a statement, the White House declined to comment on grounds that the law governing petition provides that not all matters have to be accepted.

A user had launched the petition in late January after Bieber was arrested in Miami because of an illegal road race under the influence of drugs and alcohol. “We the people of the United States feel that we are being wrongly represented in the world of pop culture. We would like to see the dangerous, reckless, destructive, and drug abusing, Justin Bieber deported and his green card revoked. He is not only threatening the safety of our people but he is also a terrible influence on our nation’s youth. We the people would like to remove Justin Bieber from our society”.
