HUSBAND OF THREE WIVES DIES IN AN ATTEMPT RAPE

A married man of three wives who happens to be member of a vigilante group lost his life while attempting to rape another man’s wife in a Gidan Kaso village in Birnin Magaji Local Government Area in Zamfara State.

The victim was said to have held on to his manhood of the suspected rapist till he gave up the ghost. According to Kabir Sani, a resident of the village, “The suspect who is a member of the vigilante group in the area has made several attempts to rape the woman in the past which the woman has reported to the village head”. He said the suspect was summoned and warned to desist from the act or face the wrath of the law but he had denied the allegation.

According to the witness, “On the day of the incident, the suspect who is a married man with three wives had gone to the woman’s house with a knife and threatened to kill her if she rejects him” “The woman told the suspect to take off his clothes and after doing that he laid down on the bed, it was at that point that she grabbed his manhood and held it till he died. He screamed for his neighbors to come to his aid but nobody came.

When the woman has confirmed that he was dead, she ran to the village head to narrate the incident to him. The village head assigned some other vigilante group to go with her and ascertained what actually happened. After that, his corpse was taken to hospital for examination and later buried, he said.
The state’s police spokesman, DSP Lawal Abdullahi, confirmed the case adding: “The woman is under police protective custody now and she acted in self defense. Right now the case is under investigation, after that the case file will be taken to the state Ministry of Justice for legal advice”.
