Cancer sufferer spit roasts himself to kill deadly cells (Photos)

A man suffering from leukaemia is literally cooking himself alive over hot coals because he cannot afford expensive hospital treatment.

Broke Jia Binhui, 25, has been told that a temperature higher than 42 degrees Celsius can kill the cancerous cells in his body – so everyday he suspends himself above a roaring fire.

He has even built a bizarre BBQ contraption in his backyard in Yunlong County in southwest China’s Yunnan Province to help sure the therapy is carried out evenly.

Desperate Binhui, who was diagnosed with blood cancer in 2013, has already undergone a 55,000 GBP bone marrow transplant which was paid for by well wishers.

But further hospital treatments have used up all his cash and as his family are poor farm workers, he has turned to the alternative therapy of roasting himself in an attempt to kill off harmful cells.

Jia said: ‘They say experts believe a temperature higher than 42 degrees Celsius can kill cancer cells, so I set up a contraption in my backyard to try. Let’s see if it works.’

He collects sawdust and various twigs and branches from nearby farmland, and places them under two wooden poles, which he lies on top of as he slowly cooks himself.

Jia said he burns the wood for several minutes until only hot coals remain, then he suspends himself over the top for as long as he can stand it.

He continued: ‘I’ve been told that it also works in water. But it’s nearly impossible to keep water constantly at 42 degrees Celsius, so I’m using this method instead.’

Jia, who recently married his girlfriend of five years, Liu Yuan, said he refuses to give up.

He plans to continue using this method of treatment then go back to the hospital to see if his condition has improved.
