Mr Bean’s Wife Of 24 Years Divorces Him On Grounds Of ‘Unreasonable Behavior’

Veteran comic actor Rowan Atkinson, popularly known as Mr Bean and his wife of 24 years Sunetra were yesterday granted a divorce after he left her for 32-year-old Louise Ford. Their divorce was granted on the grounds of ‘unreasonable behavior’. Atkinson, 60, has been dating Louise for 18 months. .

Atkinson and his wife were granted a decree nisi by District Judge Stephen Alderson at London’s Central Family Court in a short hearing lasting less than a minute.

Neither he nor Sunetra, 54 who lodged the petition, were present in court for the announcement.

A source earlier told The Sun: ‘Sunetra was deeply upset to be replaced by such a younger woman.’

She and Atkinson were building an £11million home in Oxfordshire at the time of their split in 2014.

He and Sunetra got married in New York in 1990 and have two children together – Ben, 22, and Lily, 20.

Atkinson first met his wife, the daughter of an Indian engineer from Ealing, West London, in the late Eighties, when she was working as a make-up artist for the BBC.
