The Hunger Games star , 25, explains: “I left home when I was 14, so I was alone a lot and I was in New York and it was scary. I was raised by rats and that will toughen you up.
“And I got to the point where I was literally just sharing food with rats.
“I didn’t really have any money. If a rat had eaten my loaf of bread, I started just cutting around the hole that the rat had ate.
“It got to the point where I was literally sharing food with a rat. So that’s when my parents were like, yeah, I think she really, really wants to do this.”
The 25-year-old banked $52 million pre-tax over 12 months to be the best paid actress–$16.5 million more than second-ranked Scarlett Johansson, who earned $35.5 million.
