Barack Obama unveiled new firearm measures in a speech yesterday but broke down when remembering the child victims of the massacre at Sandy Hook elementary school in 2012.
The President announced new plans to curb gun violence following the latest shooting in San Bernadino.
He called for thorough background checks, the closure of the so-called ‘gun show loophole’, and greater restrictions on sales by unlicensed dealers.

Obama said: ‘Today, background checks are required at gun stores … You pass a background check, you purchase a firearm.
‘The problem is, some gun sellers have been operating under a different set of rules.’
He also highlighted how easy it is for people to buy guns online without background checks and claimed that one in 30 people who buy firearms online have a criminal record.
The president then tearfully broke down as he talked about the 2012 massacre victims and said: ‘We know we can’t stop every act of violence, every act of evil in the world, but maybe we can try to stop one act of evil, one act of violence.
‘We maybe can’t save everybody, but we can save some.’
Yet after the president’s speech, conservatives like Ben Shapiro and Jim Geraghty poked fun out of Obama for crying over the tragedy.
